In plain English

BitInfoCharts is a long-running cryptocurrency statistics site that passes most trust checks. It's not a scam, but it has a couple of minor technical weaknesses β€” outdated TLS support and a large number of hidden page elements β€” that keep it from being a perfect score. For just looking up prices and blockchain data, you're fine.

Where the score comes from

We look at six areas. Here's how bitinfocharts.com did in each.
75
Security

The site uses modern encryption and prevents clickjacking, but it still accepts outdated TLS 1.0 and 1.1 connections. For a data-only crypto stats site this isn't a major risk, but it's a lazy gap worth noting.

90
Identity

Clear WHOIS records, a 13-year-old domain, and registration through a reputable registrar β€” all signs the operator isn't hiding who they are. This is exactly what you'd expect from an established information site.

90
Reputation

Clean DNS blacklists, 12 years of Wayback history, and moderate traffic on Tranco. No outside complaints or flags. The site has a consistent long-term presence.

80
Transparency

An about page, contact info, and social media links are all present. For a crypto data aggregator that doesn't take payments or logins, this level of openness is solid.

75
Compliance

Privacy policy and terms of service are published, which is good. There’s no cookie consent notice or business entity disclosure, but given the site's informational nature and likely US hosting, these aren't dealbreakers.

75
Infrastructure

Cloudflare CDN, good email authentication, and fast load times. The lack of DNSSEC is neutral, and the legacy TLS issue shows up here again. The 238 hidden HTML elements are unusual and could be used for cloaking, though they may also be benign design artifacts.

BitInfoCharts.com has been around since 2013, serving up cryptocurrency statistics like prices, difficulty, hashrates, and rich lists. For a data-only site that doesn't ask for logins or payments, the trust signals are largely reassuring. The domain registration is transparent, privacy and terms pages are in place, and the site has a clean security record β€” no malware or blacklist hits.

Two things give us pause. The server still accepts old TLS 1.0 and 1.1 connections, which browsers have deprecated for years. And the page contains over 200 hidden HTML elements β€” that's a lot of invisible content, which can sometimes be used for cloaking or SEO manipulation. Neither is a red flag by itself, but they nudge the trust score down from excellent to solid.

If you're using BitInfoCharts to monitor crypto markets or explore blockchain data, there's no reason to worry. Just be aware it's not a best-in-class technical setup. For a quick price check or wallet lookup, it's a legitimate tool.
