diaspora.psyco.fr is a small, non-commercial social network pod running the open-source diaspora* software. Unlike major platforms, it's hosted by a community or individual. The site has been online for over a decade and shows solid technical security: encryption, protections against common browser attacks, and a clean security history. It also provides privacy and terms pages, which is not always the case for such pods. If you're considering joining this pod, the main question is whether you trust the administrator, as they can see your data. The site's longevity and contact availability are good signs. There's no evidence to suggest it's a scam or fake. As with any small social network, be mindful of what you share. For a deeper look, check for community feedback and pod uptime statistics, but the signals here are reassuring.
In plain English
This diaspora* pod looks legitimate and has been around since 2015, which gives it a solid track record. Security is well handled, and it even has privacy and terms pages, which isn't common for small community servers. The only thing missing is an about page, but that's not unusual for a pod run by one person.
Where the score comes from
Solid security setup with modern encryption, enforced HTTPS, and protections against clickjacking and other common attacks. No malware or phishing flags detected.
The domain has been registered for over a decade, which is a strong sign of stability. Ownership is not publicly listed due to French registry policy, not an attempt to hide.
Clean on all blacklists and has a long, unbroken web history going back to 2015. No trust issues from external watchlists.
Contact information is available, but there is no about page or team details. For a small community-run pod this is typical, but a bit more disclosure would be welcome.
Both a privacy policy and terms of service are present, which is more than many community pods bother with. No GDPR concerns here.
Fast loading, DNSSEC enabled, and hosted on a reputable European provider. The site doesn't handle email, which matches its purpose.
